Plate Armor
Plate armor consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates that cover the entire body. This is the best non-magical armor in D&D 5e, providing an exceptional AC of 18. The suit includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath. Donning a suit of plate armor is a time-consuming process requiring assistance. Plate armor is the signature protection of legendary knights, elite paladins, and wealthy warriors. The exceptional cost reflects the masterwork craftsmanship required to create such armor.

Mechanics
Armor Class: 18. Heavy armor doesn't let you add your Dexterity modifier to your AC. You can don plate armor in 10 minutes and doff it in 5 minutes. Donning with help reduces time by half. Strength Requirement: 15 (if you don't meet this, your speed is reduced by 10 feet). Stealth Disadvantage: You have disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks while wearing this armor. Wearing armor without proficiency imposes disadvantage on ability checks, saving throws, and attack rolls involving Strength or Dexterity, and prevents spellcasting.
