Ritual Caster
Complete guide to the Ritual Caster feat in D&D 5e. Gain a ritual book, learn ritual spells from any class, and expand your utility without using spell slots.
Benefit
You gain a ritual book and can learn ritual spells from your chosen class, casting them without expending spell slots.
Mechanics
Ritual Caster grants you access to ritual spells from a chosen class: **Choose a Class:** Choose one class: Bard, Cleric, Druid, Sorcerer, Warlock, or Wizard. You must have an Intelligence or Wisdom score of 13 or higher. **Ritual Book:** You acquire a ritual book holding two 1st-level ritual spells from your chosen class. You can cast these spells as rituals (adding 10 minutes to casting time) without preparing them. **Learn New Rituals:** If you come across a written spell (in a spellbook or scroll), you can add it to your ritual book if: - It's a ritual spell - It's from your chosen class's spell list - Its level is no more than half your character level (rounded up) - You spend 2 hours and 50 gp per spell level copying it **Important Details:** - You don't use spell slots to cast these spells - You must cast them as rituals (10 extra minutes) - Intelligence-based classes use INT for spellcasting ability, Wisdom-based use WIS - You can't cast these spells normally, only as rituals - The book is a physical object that can be lost or stolen
